True finite-element plate analysis without strip or grid-beam approximations. SLB captures two-way bending, shear and twisting using thick-plate (Mindlin–Reissner) elements, without load-path assumptions or rectangular grids. Trusted in design practice for over 30 years, from garage roofs to shopping mall floors.
Serviceability often governs slab thickness. SLB calculates long-term deflections, including the effects of creep and shrinkage, using your choice of method: ACI λΔ, Gilbert, Branson (ACI 435), RSM, Eurocode 2 or Kcs (AS 3600). You see how the slab will actually deflect over time, not just a span-to-depth check.
Slab Reinforcement Design
SLB designs the top and bottom steel over the whole slab, in both orthogonal directions, and shows the required areas as clear contour plots. You can then specify the actual bars, check how efficient the layout is and get the steel rate for the floor. Design is to ACI 318, CSA A23.3 and AS 3600.
Beams and band beams can run in any direction and are part of the same 3D floor model, so they share load with the slab naturally. SLB designs every section along each beam for bending and shear and produces a full design report. The reinforcement can then be modified and re-checked.
CAD & Revit Import / Integrated Workflow
Direct import of individual floors from CAD or Revit, plus automatic data-sharing across INDUCTA’s other modules (RCB, PTD), fit well in the existing BIM workflows, rather than a bolt-on tool.
Punching Shear Check and Design
Punching shear failures are a major liability concern, and it’s a common source of manual-calc errors. SLB provides a reliable and comprehensive solution with automatic perimeter detection plus design of extra shear reinforcement.
Winkler springs or full elastic-half-space soil–structure interaction soil models. A special tool for you is worth keeping in your back pocket. Slab-on-grade is extremely common, and with SLB, it is extremely easy to use. Whether it is low-rise or industrial construction, it could easily be used in the same slab model.
Frequency & Forced Vibration Analysis
SLB can be used to analyse vibration-sensitive floors, such as hospitals, labs, floors with rotating machinery. SLB integrates natural frequencies extraction and forced-vibration analysis in the same model. No need for a separate floor vibration tool. Static and dynamic analysis in the same model, is a real workflow win.
